Chordata of Australia

The larger fauna you will see undiving in Australia will be craniata vertebrates of the classes aves (large land penguins), reptilia (kind of land seasnakes), and large colonies if mammalia especially of the order primate (a kind of land dugong).

It is speculated that the mysterious snorkelfish, increasingly commonly sighted near coral reefs, may be a subspecies of these primates.

I have discovered that these primates don't have chromatophores, and the usual alarm signal is not a sign of agitation, but an involuntary colour change known as "haventyaheardofsunscreen, yapommygit".

Counterintuitively, affected primates are somewhat slow moving, and placid.
